Blog v Wiki

 Compare and contrast blogs and wikis. Comment on the importance of convergence in today's networked world. How can blogs be used for collaboration? Can you think of a new use for a wiki that has not been done yet?


Both Blog and Wiki are part of the Web 2.0 revolution. Blogs are a more personal or casual way of expressing yourself when Wiki is used more for the community.  Blogs can be used for collaboration to reach a wider audience and to gain a reputation. 

I think the convergence in today's networked world is necessary for businesses and individuals.  It helps us to stay connected by sharing different information, points of view.

  What are some ways (corporate and otherwise) that these technologies can be used? What are the benefits of these technologies to society? Be specific. Is there a "dark side"? Make sure to include your opinion of the way these technologies might evolve in the future.  Seeing how technology is advancing, we can say that it is the most important thing in today's world. It involves in everything such as education, healthcare, communication, etc.  Now that we all have to be home, technology benefits us in connecting and meeting with each other virtually, having the ability to call, video chat, and even creating a group chat.  I think one of the biggest disadvantages "dark side" of technology is privacy concerns. Blog about Twitter

 I feel like when you post something on Twitter, you do not need sound professional and be formal. You can express your thoughts however you like to. But when I use Blackboard discussion, I have to be professional and make sure that my words make sense and relate to the object of discussion. Also, I cannot use emojis. For the in-class discussion, you can use gestures to express yourself and you do not need to sound so formal in-class discussions.
